The Survivor Informed Learning Institute is a survivor-led online learning platform designed for anyone who wants to better understand grooming, exploitation, and human trafficking through practical, real-world education grounded in lived experience.
The Institute offers online certificate courses, educational books, and specialized training for individuals, parents, educators, professionals, churches, organizations, and communities. Learn at your own pace, on your own schedule, wherever you are.
Our growing library of educational books gives you even more flexibility. Books can be read, listened to, or switched between reading and listening, so you can choose the learning style that works best for you.
For even greater convenience, you can download the Teachable app and take your learning with you. Access your courses and learning materials from your phone or tablet, making it easier to learn at home, during a break, while traveling, or whenever you have time.
The Institute is also home to the “What You Might See” educational series, helping people recognize situations they may encounter in everyday life or through their work, understand what those situations could mean, and learn how to respond safely and appropriately.

Recognizing Grooming Before Exploitation™ Master Class
For years, Sheri Lopez has presented this survivor-led training to audiences across the country. Now this nationally recognized training is available online as a self-paced Master Class.
Unlike traditional human trafficking training that often begins with exploitation, this course focuses on what can happen before trafficking begins—the grooming process.
Through more than five hours of survivor-informed education, you’ll learn how grooming develops, how offenders build trust and manipulate, warning signs that are often overlooked, and how to respond with greater awareness.
